And then he said it

I love you, of course I want to have sex with you.

We were standing in my kitchen, dinner not quite made. He wanted to put off eating for just a little while longer and I asked if he was sure.

He stated it so simply and matter of factly that I'm not positive he meant to say it. I think it may have just slipped out. Except in that split second I studied him and his eyes didn't widen; he remained so damn calm.

So I did what I always do: I ignored it and pretended it didn't happen. I could have stopped and asked him to repeat himself, but I didn't want him to feel embarrassed. Besides, he was asking for sex so clearly it didn't count.

Most importantly though, I didn't want to give him the opportunity to take it back.

and ps from experience I think sometimes the first time goes like this. . .its like they're testing your reaction to 'those words'.

I'm debating saying those three words to someone special..

But in your case it sounds like he was going through a conversation with you in his mind and perhaps said the word rather than just thought it, could mean he actually means it hence the slip of the tongue.

I think he means it and wouldn't take it back.

Maybe you can say something like, "I felt really special when you said that you love me."

I'd do the same thing. When it was first said to me I actually said "Really?" before I could stop myself.

In your place, I'd be way to chicken shit to say it back, or even acknowledge the fact that he said it.

I agree with drama queen, he's definitely testing your reaction, find an equally strange way to say it one day and see how he reacts!

Yeah, I first heard it when I checked my phone and realised I had no SMS. . .I said to BF 'ah well no one loves me' (as a figure of speech) and he went 'But I love you'. . .I just kinda froze.

How does it feel to know that you've got half the blogging world, waiting on pins and needles for your next entry? lol

Ooooooh, you have GOT to say it back! Do it on your own terms, but if you feel it, definitely say it. Something like "Oh...I love you, too." You could make it seem like you thought it over and feel it completely, but you just didn't want to say it at that moment just because HE said it. That means more anyway, if you ask me. But for real, girl, SAY IT!! ;o)~

Good luck...
