I have finally heard a speed dating story worse than mine. Actually, I've never heard a good speed dating story, but the stories themselves are always good.
A friend of mine in Florida went to speed dating earlier in the week. Granted she's in the older grouping, but only seven men showed up. Of the seven, she got matched with two.
I received this e-mail this morning:
I've never been on the receiving end of such e-mails, thank goodness. This is what I get for giving a Republican a chance -- glad to know she still has her sense of humor after it all.

I wonder who dates Republicans? They apparently make up around 40 to 50 percent of the country depending on the election, so someone has to date them :)
I've never tried the speed dating thing and probably never will. It doesn't sound all that trustworthy. :)

M- They think differently than Dems, they really honestly do. And not because they believe different things. They fight nastier and are less willing to listen or just agree to disagree.

My boyf claims he went to the wedding of two people who met speed dating. I was very sceptical and stated that surely people don't actually get together as a result of speed dating. He still swears this is true.
Dating has changed quite a bit since I was first involved way back in 1962.
